What it is
The number that identifies you before the Argentine tax authority.
The CDI (Clave de Identificación) is the number ARCA assigns to individuals and entities that do not hold — and are not required to hold — a CUIT or CUIL, but still need to be identified in transactions inside Argentina.
It is used, among other things, to:
- Open a bank or investment account in Argentina
- Become a shareholder or partner in an Argentine company
- Appear as the owner of registrable assets
- Respond to requirements from bodies such as the CNV or the UIF
- Deal with local counterparties that require a tax identification
The CUIL is for employees. The CUIT identifies those who carry out an activity and pay tax on it. The CDI is identification only — it does not register you for any tax. If your case requires invoicing or operating as a taxpayer, a CUIT is what you need, and we handle that too.
The process
Four steps, and the number is yours.
You get in touch
By WhatsApp or email. We reply the same day and tell you whether your case calls for a CDI or a CUIT.
We request the documents
Passport or foreign corporate documents, apostilled and translated where required, plus the power of attorney in favour of the local representative.
We file with ARCA
We assemble the file and submit it. You do not have to appear anywhere in person.
You receive your number
We send it to you with the official certificate, and carry on with whatever comes next: bank account, company, tax registrations.
